Holy $h!t. It’s the middle of July in 2019 and I haven’t written a blog since June 16, 2018, about salary negotiation. Just two months before that I wrote you apologizing for not writing in a long time… sense a trend here? I feel like I suck at life sometimes. But let’s just say: I have learned a lot in the last year. I have several blogs in the works and should be producing much more content for all (two) of my readers in the near future - #thanksMomandDad.
In all seriousness, if you’re reading this, thank you for being interested in what I have to say. If you know me at all, you know I always have a lot to say and I never shut up. I want to start by just catching you up since my last post so buckle up—it’s a big one.
May 2018
Started a New Job
Okay, I know. This was technically before the last post but I can’t believe I didn’t share this with you as I shared my experience about being let go! I am someone who HAS to be busy all the time and #typicalmillenial needs to feel like she’s making a difference. So, after four long months of being unemployed, I landed a contract job at Microsoft as a Content Editor. I am getting paid to be a #grammarNazi. I was so excited for this opportunity. Also, it came with a $9/hour pay raise from my last position so I was super stoked about that.
Won Dance Nationals
I took my studio to our third dance nationals at Lagoon in Utah and won. #nbd #proudcoach

Turned A Quarter of a Century
The big 2-5. I totally had a quarter-life crisis… I’m doing much better now though.
One of My Best Friends Got Engaged!
Katie, my best friend from high school, got engaged to the love of her life (that she met online—there was hope for me and my online dating after all)!
June 2018
I can’t remember much… so clearly it didn't make that much of an impact. First period in high school #amiright But! I did participate in a body-positivity photo campaign for a local photographer. #yonce Not pictured: me posing in a nude bra and underwear, proving that every body is beautiful.

July 2018
Road Trip to LA with Mom
One of my beautiful cousins got married and I (somehow) convinced my mom to leave with me Thursday, drive to Vegas, party, drive to LA, party, go to the beach, witness her wedding, party, and drive home (from LA) Sunday morning when we both worked the following morning. We survived. We had a blast. She won’t go with me again though. #cantwinthemall

Road Trip with the Fam
I took a two-week long road trip with Mom and Pops to meet my Cop Brother, sister-in-law, and two nieces. From Idaho to Ohio, people. For the most part, it was great. Did I mention my new job is REMOTE? As long as I have Wi-Fi, I can work from anywhere. #luckylady I worked from the road, logging in from Wyoming, Sturgis, Face Rock (or Mount Rushmore), Mosquito Lake, and many more places. I am super grateful for that trip.

August 2018
Hit 40 Pounds Lost from Keto
Dang. That’s crazy to write. I remember August 1 realizing I had lost 40 pounds. Pretty proud of myself!

Started Talking to This Guy on Tinder (Also August 1)
Yup. Downloaded Tinder. Nope. Wasn’t in it for hookups. Yup. Several unsolicited #eggplant pictures. Nope. He wasn’t one of them. Pretty cool guy: had a dog, wore aviators, and was in the Navy. And SUPER cute. Wasn’t sure why he was into me but was willing to give it a shot. #selfesteemissues
Saw ZZ Top with my Brother
Beards. Beer. Brother. #needIsaymore Actually, yeah. It was pretty cool since Mom has seen them several times too so she saw them when she was my age and so did I!

Watched Another Great Friend Marry Her Sweetheart
Beautiful wedding. Bawled like a baby.

Met That Guy from Tinder
Best first date ever. Will explain in lengthy, romantic, cheesy post later.
Second, Third, and Fourth Dates with Guy from Tinder
Guy from Tinder turned out to be super amazing. His name is Clayton. <3

Katie Asked Me to Be Her Maid of Honor
SO. EXCITED.
September 2018
Caught (What Would Have Been) Idaho’s State Record Perch
#WhatWouldHaveBeen because I threw it back. #facepalm

KEPT the Guy from Tinder (Clayton)
Weird, right? Coming from the girl who made this video, it was shocking to everyone (and I do mean everyone) in my life that I was keeping this guy around. Also, it may or may be intentional that I share this photo of his fish after mine. #sorrynotsorry

Watched Another Friend Get Married!
Convinced Clayton to go with me to this wedding for a girl I used to hate but now love! ;) #girlproblems

October 2018
Took Clayton to the Wyakin Warrior Ball
Ridiculous amounts of fun and alcohol were had. And we looked amazing. P.S. #LiterallyNoIdea you could find three-piece suits at thrift stores that were that nice. He bought that for SIXTEEN DOLLARS.

Mom Took Me to See the Lion King Live
We almost missed the show because I had the wrong show time, traffic was awful and they shut the doors on us. But we made it just in time for me to bawl at Mufasa’s death, quote every line, and hug my Mom for such a great experience.

Met Clayton’s Family
Yuuup. Big step but I absolutely ADORE them. Also, I learned how to make applesauce!
November 2018
Paisley Jean Turned 2
Brb. Sobbing.

December 2018
Mom, Pops and I Took Clayton to Vegas for His First Time (and Declared Our Love)
Yup, it was a trip to remember. Walking the strip, faking an impromptu wedding, the Mob Museum, Fremont Street, Shark Reef, and Tournament of Kings made us so many memories. So much fun and we said the “L” word after wandering home at 4 AM. Also, side note: I left his rubber duck in the shark tank at Mandalay Bay.

Spent Christmas with his Family
I have NEVER spent Christmas away from my family but they welcomed me with open arms. I ugly-cried when we left. Also, I’m just going to leave this here to help you understand just how lucky I am. He made this #handmadelocket from the bottle caps from our first beers on our first date. #uglycried

Accepted a New Position as a Bookkeeper for Family Business
That sounds like the mob… but it isn’t (though we can dig a pretty deep hole). #welldrillerjokes
January 2019
Uh, new year new me? #literallynoidea Oh, also attended another wedding for one of my past dancers!
February 2019
WTF? Ice Fishing Tournament
I absolutely love fishing and event planning so, of course, I hopped on the opportunity to help put on the WTF? (Where’s the Fish?) Ice Fishing tournament at Warm Lake, Idaho.

First Dance Competition
We were successful. #knockoutdancers

Valentine’s Day
MUCH different than my last Valentine’s Day. I mean, come on. #luckylady

Women With Bait Steelhead Tournament
This was my third year competing… and second year in a row only catching a buzz. But it was a blast nonetheless. #womenwhofish

March 2019
I MOVED IN WITH CLAYTON
Holy cow. This was huge to me. You know, the eternally single girl who wrote a blog on #literallynoidea how to love? I was so excited and it still seems unreal. I love my new minimalistic life. (More on this later)

Katie’s Bachelorette Party
Great time in beautiful McCall, Idaho, celebrating the beautiful bride!

Said, “Bye Felicia,” to Wells Fargo
FOREVER. Seriously, if I could accomplish one thing from this post, it would be to convince you to give Wells Fargo the middle finger. More on this later but, for now, enjoy my break-up letter to them.
April 2019
Second Dance Competition
We just had two soloists and they both did great!

Accepted the Position as the Miss Gem County Program Recruitment Chair
Yup, I can’t say no to new projects.

Hit a Major Block with My Business
I had HALF of my students quit. I will go into more detail later but it was an insane last few months of the season.

Traveled to Santa Clara for JUMP Dance Convention
I drove two of my dancers down (12 hours) to Santa Clara, California, for an amazing dance convention.

May 2019
Won Dance Nationals
Even after an honestly awful season, my dancers and I did it again. Also, I declared my love for Clayton on the stage sick off of my @$$. #boss

Watched Katie Marry the Man of Her Dreams
Beautiful wedding. Definitely ugly-cried again.

Competed in My First Three-Gun Competition
I’m leading in the women’s class (but definitely need practice)!

Watched My Cousin Marry the Woman of His Dreams
Seemed to be a year for weddings! No ugly-crying at this one because I was having too much fun since they planned it on my 26th birthday. #twoferone

June 2018
Volunteered for the Jr. Miss Cherry Festival Pageant
Yet again, can’t say no but I love it. We choreographed the opening numbers, helped wrangle the girls (all 55 of them) for the week, and performed during intermission.

Went Blonde!
It was time for a change!

Watched the Princess Bride in Theaters with my Dad
It was amazing. We quoted the entire thing and so did everyone else. #asyouwish

July 2019
Now, here we are! I’m still at Microsoft, still severely overbooked, and still hopelessly in love with the man of my dreams.

Also, shout out to Five Ever Imagery for this amazing shot of us!
So, hopefully you can look at that list and forgive me for not creating content. And if you don’t, I’m not too worried about it. ;)
Cheers!
